4GAASF: Rules? Where We're Going, We Don't Need Rules.

That's right, this category is dedicated to the original, spontaneous, rule breaking actors and actresses both on and off screen. On screen their characters are everything between the lovable rouge and the fiendishly wonderful villain  to the small, unexpectedly heart-wrenching guest appearance. No matter who they play, you remember them. Off screen these actors defy expectations, enjoying connecting with fans, taking risks, and letting the world see just how totally human they are. It's really no wonder that my final choices have been costars under the direction of the wonderful Joss Whedon (multiple times).

And to be honest, if this weren't restricted to actors and actresses, Joss Whedon would be the hands down winner of the category.

4GAASF: The Smarter the Nerd, the Harder Villains Fall

On to round two. It's no surprise that there is a large group of nerds, geeks, dorks, and whatever else you choose to call them in science fiction and fantasy. After all, they are a large portion of the consumers! But those actors who go above and beyond can turn a talking encyclopedia into an endearing, complex character that can end up being the reason you continue to come back for more. Plus, these actors have a shocking versatility to play incredibly different types of characters as they often try to branch out from the lovable genius that made them famous.

4GAASF: Never Ignore the Person with the Largest Guns

As promised, here are my first male and female selections for great actors of scify. This category is dedicated to all the gunslingers, the millitary men, the shoot-em-up and let the scientists deal with it later characters that so often take the lead. They charge into danger that would terrify the rest of us, and whether their characters do it for king and country or for the money and fun of it all, at the end of the day these actors sell it.
